“I wrote ‘Gimme Some Water’ back in the late ’70s in Albuquerque,” he says during a recent phone interview. “I had some great people I was working with and the song just came to me. I always look forward to getting back to perform there.”
Money will be bringing his wife along for his stop at Camel Rock Casino on Saturday, April 28.
“She’s never spent a lot of time and hopefully we can experience the area,” he says.
Money will bring his arsenal of hits along with him for the show. During the 1980s, he was a staple in pop music, with radio hits “Think I’m in Love,” “Two Tickets to Paradise,” “I Wanna Go Back,” “Shakin’, “Baby Hold on to Me” and “Take Me Home Tonight.”
The 69-year-old continues to write music and he’s dipped his hands into the reality TV realm.
The TV show “Real Money” airs on AXS TV, and features Money and his family of seven.
The series gives viewers a look into the daily lives of him and his family – which includes Money, his wife Laurie, and children, Zach, Joe, Jesse, Dez and Julian.

“I wanted to do something with my children,” he says of the TV series. “And I thought my fans would find it interesting to see a different facet of my life. The fans know me as a singer and performer. The series lets them into the part of my life of being a husband and father. It’s tough out there for families and it takes work to succeed.”

Money says jumping in front of the camera was definitely a transition – albeit a small one.

“I was born to be a performer,” he says. “Having the camera around the house is a little different because I can’t really get too comfortable. My kids are all in my house, so there’s always something going on. I hope the series does well and gives viewers an inside look at my life.”
